Umbrella Islands
The Umbrella Islands are just south of Bears Head on the southern edge of Parry Island. This is near Parry Sound Onatario, Canada. It is fairly well known that there was a fishing village there about 100 years ago but what is not so well known is that there is still evidence of the buildings and dockage to be found. Mooring rings and the remains of a building are on the largest island in the group, the one with the interperative signs on it. The rings are on the open water side (west x southwest) and the building was on the eastern edge in a protected gully. There is still the remains of a bed frame washing machine and woodstove. |
